MY BACKGROUND
I am currently a senior at Apex High School in Apex, North Carolina. In college, I would like to major in Finance while being on the pre-dental track. I am very passionate about studying dentistry, and hope to fulfill it by studying at your wonderful university.Here is my personal diary of all my experiences that made me who I am today!

WHAT I HAVE DONE

Apex Smiles
I shadowed Dr. Vinay Chirnalli at Apex Smile in a 4 days internship. He is a cosmetic dentist, a founder of Apex Smiles. During the internship, I shadowed many different dental procedures such as; dental implants, root canals, veneers, and wisdom teeth extractions

INPIRIT AI - AI Scholars Program run by MIT alumni
The internship helped me learn AI models such as neural networks, linear regression, and convolutional neural networks. Developed an artificial intelligence that helps detecting pneumonia based on x-ray images of a patient's lungs.

Marketing Internship
My team and I have created promotional content for an organization such as newsletters, videos, and images. This internship lasted 6 weeks and involved editing videos, interviewing the organization's board, and getting feedback from organization members.


Research and Design: Arduino
I built a device using the Arduino board that actively implements social distancing. The device is attached to the user and when someone enters the 6-foot radius of the user, a subtle alarm is activated.


Leadership and Volunteer Services
WHAT I BRING TO THE TABLE
Volunteering has provided me an opportunity to learn and grow into valuable member of society. I have volunteered 550+ hours through various non-profit organizations, including YMCA and other organizations, to help people in need, good causes, community services, etc. Volunteering helped me develop self-esteem, self-confidence, life skills and also become a well-rounded individual.
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)
I was a part of Student Visionaries of the Year for 2 years. Student Visionaries of the Year is a philanthropic leadership development program organized by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, one of the world's largest non-profit organizations that fund research, education, and patient services for leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and Hodgkin's disease. Every year, student leaders are tasked to build teams and engage their community to raise as much money as possible in 7 weeks. I joined my first year as a team member and raised $1,750. With a vision and strategy to raise more money, I took a leadership role. As a team leader, I raised $9,860 with my team raising over $10,000.

I participated in FBLA and completed an Introduction to Information Technology event and awarded 3rd at regionals.



DECA
I have proactively participated in DECA for three years in high school. Successfully went to States all three years and won proficiency pins.

TTGA Toastmasters Youth Leadership Program
The Toastmasters youth leadership program which was organized by TTGA was designed to teach public speaking and leaderships skills. The programs lasted 10 weeks. This program is something that I am grateful for participating in as it taught me many soft skills that I can apply in other areas of my life. Toastmasters is something that I would like to participate in going forward.


TTGA Pradatha
Pradatha is a TTGA's program, a non-profit organization, to cook and serve food for the homeless and needy. The TTGA organization has chosen to serve in Durham Rescue Mission and Ronald McDonald to cook and serve once a month. It is a volunteer run program by collecting donations from sponsors. I have proactively worked with other volunteers helping in the kitchen and serving food for homeless and needy every month.




TTGA Adopt-A-Highway Program
I have volunteered to serve community part of the North Carolina Department of Transportation's Adopt-A-Highway program through TTGA and TATA, non-profit organizations. The Adopt-A-Highway program helps to reduce litter from the roads and educate the pubic about the importance of proper trash disposal to make the state clean and green. I have actively participated in this program since 4 years.

TATA of NC - Volunteer
I have worked as a volunteer coordinator for the TATA of NC, a non-profit organization. As a volunteer coordinator, my contributions include, but not limited to, review volunteer services, assign tasks to volunteers, schedule activities, train and mentor other volunteers as required.

BigHelp Internship in India
I have completed three-day internship at Raikode Public School in Telangana State in India through BigHelp, a non-profit organization. During the internship, I have conducted workshop for 9th (freshman) and 10th (sophomore) grade students on a concept of Growth-Mindset, personal hygiene, water purification and rain water harvest. I have concluded the internship by donating backpacks with school supplies (books, pens, pencils, etc.) to the participated students and sports equipment to the school.

Piano - Started learning piano at the age of 5 years and completed several levels. I have started taking piano lessons when I was in the middle-school to elementary school kids. Learning and teaching of piano taught me many life lessons including, but not limited to this, practice, planning, patience and perseverance.
